Plans

Many organizations go through a strategic planning process every three to five years and fundraising is often a major aspect of that process.  Professional guidance is invaluable when it comes to creating a fundraising plan, as part of your strategic plan – one that reflects proven methods, achievable goals and limited resources.

Each fundraising plan is tailored to your specific needs and capabilities.  Abundance works with you to review your past successes and not-so-successful endeavours.  From there, we explore your organization’s goals and what it takes to get there.  The process of creating an effective plan takes approximately six weeks, sometimes longer depending on the size and complexity of your non-profit organization.

Abundance plans always include a half-day workshop for your board, staff and volunteers about the basics of fundraising.  The purpose of the workshop is to build context and get everyone on the same page with fundraising – what works and why – so that your bake sale idea holders can come to terms with your planned gift idea proponents.  Together, we attempt to find common ground and a comfortable place for everyone in your organization to participate in the fundraising process.

A Fundraising Facelift

Perhaps you have a mature fundraising program, yet suspect that more can be achieved. Sometimes our methodologies get tired and worn out and donors are no longer responding the way they used to.

Abundance can help to tweak programs and campaigns by providing an expert “facelift”.   Sometimes a simple adjustment, a bit of a shift, a new strategy, a refocus of effort can result in larger gifts or more of them.

During a fundraising facelift, we examine the underlying assumptions and support for each program, taking a fresh look at the way things are done and your results over time and factor in current trends and environmental aspects to refine, redirect and improve your results.  Abundance can also review your donor data and identify fresh strategies for specific prospects.

Policy Development

Preparing for a fundraising campaign requires that specific policies be set in advance by the board, providing staff and volunteers with a framework from which to be successful. Policies provide guidance, grant authority for tasks, solve problematic issues before they actually arise and greatly assist in managing donors’ expectations.  Abundance can help your organization to establish useful and practical fundraising policies that will serve your organization well into the future.
